(He smiled as she looked up at him, feeling the innate trust within her.. the strength of which shook him to the core. To know that she would more than willingly hand over a newborn to him, knowing in her heart and soul that he would die before allowing a moment of pain to come to them.. it was an amazing feeling. As much as he wanted to just lounge there and watch her be a mother to the new whelp, he knew that things had to be taken care of. They were not in the woods, so this was a little unorthodox for sure.. had they been in the wild both of them would be in their dragon forms and they wouldn't have to worry about the logistics of everything. As it was, he took the large whelp from her and set him on his oversized paws, before taking a long moment just to check everything out. He ran his hands over the agile neck, long slender back and well shaped thighs. He checked the wee bairn's tail, and smiled when tiny little barbs poked out. He spread the tiny little wings, with their still see-through membranes.) They will nae be able to fly for more than a year.. at least nae in the sense that we fly. Little buggers will learn how to glide pretty quick though. (He teased, then turned the little baby over. The whelp growled, little tail thrashing angrily.) Och, hauld yer whist there... lad. (He grinned.) Aye, tis a lad.. though I sort of kent that, wi' ye bein the size of a small horse. Wee little piggy ye must have been. (He was crooning to the male, as he scooped him up into his arms. He cradled him close as he got to his feet.) Be right back. (He murmured, and headed outside onto the balcony. He set the bairn down and shifted his own form, so that father and son stood side by side at last. The little bairn gave a shrill cry and Dane grinned, lowering his head to nuzzle at the little dragon. The whelp was barely as tall as his father's foot.. but Dane was so careful as he lowered down on his belly, that there was no doubt the bairn was safe. His lips parted and he blew fire at the ground, nowhere near the whelp, and the little one gave another bark of happiness and plunged himself into the fire, all paws and tail, writhing in happiness. Dane's eyes were full of pride as he watched his boy harden his scales in the fire, and when the whelp finally came out of the fire he dangled his tail for the boy to play with, his gaze moving to his mate.) He darkened a wee bit in color, din ye say? (He wasn't watching the whelp, more than content knowing where he was by the nips at his tail. It was the sharp and sudden blast of fire that had him letting out a startled sound.) Sabrina! (He was breathing so rapidly that he was practically panting.) He.. och, Bree.. he's breathing fire.. (He turned his head and nipped up the lad in his teeth, dropping him into his open palm.) Ye've give life to the next Laird of the MacDouglass clan, ye have! (He lifted his head and gave out an ear shattering roar, which was instantly echoed by the other males of his clan, and thirdly by the little whelp in his paw.)
