Date Posted: 15:21:24 01/19/10 Tue I have a 72 elan with a 250cc twin that just wont behave. I have installed new pistons, 140psi compression, resealed crankcase (seals). I installed new coils, condensor and points (.016" gap). rebuilt tilly carb......it starts up, but bogs...adjusted carb, makes a difference, but can't dial it in? I have another twin, tried a known good carb off of it, same characteristics remain. any suggestions? Is there supposed to be a timing advance tab on flywheel? will timing affect this engine this severe? I have it positioned in center of elongated hole....I'm at a loss what to try now? my other twin elan has no timing advance tab, and runs awesome!! please bounce a few ideas of me...thx [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
