Date Posted: 11:14:07 10/26/07 Fri i need a wiring diagram for a 76 polaris colt 244. i pulled it all off this spring and now i dont remeber how it goes back together. plus when i bought the sled the wiring harness was all cut up and modified. so now i got wires that are just cut at some of the plugs and i want to put it all back together but i dont know what the cut wires are for. |

It is actually above the carborator in height. It runs good this way and is still running through the pump to the carb. This is on a 1972 Evinrude TW-30 |

The stick next to the gas tank says 50-1, the previous owner told us the sled runs better on 40-1. Date Posted: 12:12:23 01/26/07 Fri Hi, I have a 1973 Ski doo Olympique and I am having problems I do not have a taillight or headlight even though they are new bulbs but more importantly I have no fire to my plugs when the wiring harness is plugged together right off the coils but when it is unplugged I have lots of fire. Help me please I can't figure it out. The snowmobile is in great shape and it runs good when its running. Date Posted: 17:07:48 03/07/07 Wed I have an 82 skidoo everest 500e that has no spark. It ran great this past summer after replacing a fuel pump. Now I have no spark. It was suggested that I should test the stator. I dont know where the stator is. Also, I was told that if it has electric start, which the battery was dead so I pulled it out, it needs to have the battery in the sled to complete the circuit. Is there any truth to this? The coil and plugs are brand new. I dont know where to start looking for my problem. I also heard that if I adjust a limiter strap, the sled will pull wheelies... where is the limiter strap. Thanks |

I am working on the one for now, and some wires are bad and the kill switch wires dont kill the spark. before i get it going i want to get that working so i can stop it after it starts. I cant find a wiring diagram anywhere and cant tell where some go. Do i need a chiltons, or another manual or what? the kill switch does stop 1 spark plug from sparking, but not the other, whats wrong with this picture?.... |

Date Posted: 09:21:22 02/19/07 Mon i am new to the snowmobile world, i am an auto mechanic and know pre much nothing about snowmobiles but i have one cylinder that does not fire and i do not know how to set test or inspect the points or if it is that little box that has 4 wires what is that for i know both of my coils are good because i swapped the wires and the other cylinder was dead. i just would like to get this classic running so i can take my kids out for a cruise before the snow is gone. Date Posted: 08:33:07 02/19/07 Mon Same problems as the others. Runs good till hot. Bogs at idle. I pinch my fuel line at idle till the motor seems to catch up with fuel and ready to go again. Lots of short rides and beverage breaks in Canton OH. |

Right now when I crank over the sled gas will eventually leak from that hole.. Any ideas? Please let meknow.. I wouldn't have thought it would be easy to remove that but who know. Date Posted: 06:45:57 02/14/07 Wed Recently purchased a new fuel cap for my 79 oly which I just completed a total restoration. The fuel cap is distributed by Gama. The seal will not hold up to gasoline. It breaks down & turns to sludge. As you can imagine, it mixes with the fuel & gums everything up. My machine went from running like it was just out of the crate to running like crap. I now have to remove tank, get the******out, replace pickup filter, fuel filter, rebuild pump and clean carb. Needless to say I'm pissed. Just want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. |

Date Posted: 19:55:16 02/08/07 Thu Hi Folks, I have a 1972 Skidoo Nordic 640ES, black hood, electric start, with reverse shift, 18" track. It's a creampuff in excellent condition, a few minor signs of wear but no damage, meticulously serviced, clean, dry, stored indoors for a long time, even has the original cover, cigarette lighter, service manual, etc. Track is good, always elevated during storage. Hasn't been driven in a number of years. Could be restored to showroom condition with little effort. I would like to sell the sled as I need the space, but I have no idea what to ask for it. If anyone could give me a little guidance, or would like to make an offer, I'd surely appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Tom |

Date Posted: 19:08:38 02/03/07 Sat Recently just purchased the 69 ski-doo.Got is home let my boys ride it for a hour and then it died out. I thought was the spark plug, got two different ones. Got it to start, rode it for 15 min.And now I have no spark on any of the three spark plugs I purchased. Took ngk plug put in there to see if I have spark and it sparks . But it don't seem right is it possible all three plugs could be bad? Or is it the coil? If it has a coil? Was kinda wondering what I should do ?Thank you to anyone who can help me and my boys to get back out there . We love our sled . |

Date Posted: 07:43:31 01/08/07 Mon I bought a resonably fine ole tnt that came with electrical problems (no spark) last year. After changing the plugs,external coils,wires,points and condensors i still had no spark. I finally changed what i thought was the only thing left,the internal coil.Finally SPARK.Went for a ride with the kids,came back home for gas and couldnt get it going again..no spark.Gave up on it again till this year.Could i have blown the internal coil again??.Have unplugged the kill switch,ignition and pulled the wires from external coils to eliminate them.The ignition coil was loose when i checkedit. Put it back together and still no spark. Have i overheated the coil when it was loose and running?I checked both wires(test for broken circuit) and had no reading. Right test/wrong test??HELP!!!PS.Any pictures of how the wiring on the armature,points,condensor should look like would help tremondously. |

Date Posted: 20:03:46 01/26/07 Fri I have a 1972 AC Lynx 292 Kawasaki. It has a Tillotson HR70A carb . After “Kreeming” the old rusty tank and rebuilding the carburetor correctly, I thought it would run fine. However, It idles sporadically, loads up, and dies. When I try to give it any throttle at all it bogs. I cant seem to make any adjustments to the high or low screws and choke doesn’t do anything on or off. Seems rich. It’s loading up the plug. |

Date Posted: 17:01:29 01/04/07 Thu hey all, I have a 1969 and 1971 Skidoo Olympic snowmobile. The snowmobiles were only used for one winter and then stored in a pole barn. They've sat there untill this past september when i had to go pick them up. Both have their origional covers as well as the keys, owner's manuals, origional registrations and some extra parts that my grandfather had. Both gas tanks need to be removed and cleaned, as they have been sitting for more than 30 years. Neither run, but i'm pretty sure the 1971 would with just a little work. Both look very nice. I know nothing about snowmobiles and I was hoping someone could tell me what they'd be worth? |

Date Posted: 17:08:04 12/27/06 Wed I raced snomobiles in the early 70's,and done all my own repairs, but I recently purched a TNT 1976, I want to remove the clutch to clean it thoughly.I removed the schroud,belt,bolt holding clutch on.Now some sleds use pullers some not, do not want to damage anything.I don't think a puller(like the artic cat) works here, but I don't want to tap the rear of the pulley.Suggestions please!!!!!! Date Posted: 17:09:52 12/19/06 Tue I have a 75 tnt 440e the electric start doesn't work anymore everythin is original even the track. Its all aluminam frame. head light could work just needs a bulb and new wiring. motor runs great but recently it won't move I cant figure it out it will start and when i hit the throttle the track will start to spin then it locks up and boggs the motor out. I had it up in the air and ran it like that and it still did the same thing. It will stay running if you dont hit the gas. what is wrong??... the clutch is free and im thinking it is the belt. but anyway I'm interested in selling it for vintage sled races so if anyone is interested email me back or if u think u know what to do to fix I need help |

I have purchased a 1987 srv540 to try it out I didn't pay much for it and it needed a new idler (bogie) wheel and slides .I was told this by the seller. The wheel I could see the slides were cheap enough to change if they needed it or not. After starting it a few times the oil light came on .I looked at the oil injection system not really knowing what to look for but using my marine knowledge to help me. I am thinking of pre mixing the gas and bypassing the oil injection but not sure of the ratio should be .any ideas? What should I be looking out for on this machine operation wise? |

Date Posted: 20:07:24 11/06/06 Mon I have a 1970 Moto-Ski Grand Prix and I'm re-wiring the hood. I have all but 2 wires figured out, not sure if they go to the key switch or toggle switch. Does anybody have a simple wiring diagram? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Date Posted: 18:23:01 11/16/06 Thu need to know how the new 3 wire voltage regulator gets wired up to the old original two plug 5 wire regulator.the new regulator has 3 wires yellow,red w black line and yellow w a black line.the original one had 2 plugs a black wire and a white wire w a blue line,the other plug has a solid black wire a black wire w a white line and a black wire w a red line any help would be appreciated i am assuming the blacks are gounds and can be wired together and grounded thnx RP |

Date Posted: 19:28:13 10/25/06 Wed I am not very familar with old snowmobiles. However I picked up a 1970 335 Olympic sled. It is in good shape. However I cant get it to run. My question is when I removed the carburetor, I examined the piston stroke. The Bottom of the piston stroke is still above the intake of the carburetor? Is this normal? To me it looks orignal so it must be? But I cant fiqure out how it would run that way? Basically I can prime the sled and it will run a few seconds than stop. The excess fuel comes out the return line? Please help |
