Hi,

Yes that is my personal experience. I gain about 3 pounds 2 days before I have it and I get rid of the 3 pounds around the second day.

It is very common, studies show that 92% of all woman gain up to 5 pounds in the week before and the week during their period. It is different for everyone how much they gain and how long it takes before they lose it again.
The reason this happens is because of celosmosis: you lose a lot of salts during your period, then the level of salt in your blood is low, your body tries to have an average concentration salt in its blood, so if salt is low, your blood gives some water of to your cells, the concentration salt is normal again then. The water in your cells is what we call water weight, it goes back into your blood as soon as your salt levels you normal again (mostly after the third day of your period) and then you lose the water in the normal way again.

It might now seem as if if you would eat some more salt this would not happen but that is not the case. Your body simply doesnt want the salt and will get rid of it. There is no way you can prevent the weight gain while having your period.

Hope this explains things

Chocolate
