Chocolate is the one to ask about this and knows the most about it. But since she's in a different time-zone let me start you out by saying that you most likely can eat what you want (just not fast foods and junk foods, etc). But you need to remember that a diet is a diet...but changing your LIFESTYLE is what really works and I think all of us with ED's need to reprogram ourselves into thinking about lifestyle changes.

You realistically can't diet for a few weeks or months then go off it and think everything will be the same. Even if you choose to do the 2468 you need to balance the foods you eat (along with calorie counting) to ensure your body gets what it needs).

I'll leave Chocolate up to the rest to advise you since I seriously don't believe in ANY DIET. In fact, I hate the word diet which is why I lean to the word lifestyle.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. But eating healthy is truly what works. I suspect you may have trouble sticking to what you perceive to be a diet (maybe cutting everything out you may enjoy which may include some foods that aren't necessarily categorized as "healthy"). But denying yourself is also a problem. Although I have changed my eating habits to an almost vegetarian-type diet, when PMS arrives I allow myself a slice or 2 of pizza, a little bit of potato chips, and even a little red meat that sort of thing. I eat very healthy from Mon-Fri and although I quit binging on the weekends, I do allow myself now to eat whatever I feel like eating even if it's not in my program as it were. I just watch the amounts I eat as opposed to eating a whole lot of them and feeling guilty or purging them later.

I wish you luck, sweetie!

Deb
