Of course I remember the conversation and situation you had with your roommate. You hadn't brought it up in awhile and I didn't want to ask but I'm glad you did.

If you also remember I suggested that when confronting people in general, if you do so in a calm, adult manner and don't raise your voice or end up in tears then they will tend to really listen to you even if it's something they don't agree with or want to hear.

You're to be commended for being prepared and handling the situation extraordinarily well. As Basil said, living with someone else (including partners/spouses) is always trying and takes a lot of getting used to. I also agree your roommate, whether she intends to do it, or is simply doing it unintentionally, is being manipulative and she has no grounds to do so and should not be allowed to do so. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "no one can make you feel inferior without your consent." I believe the same is true in manipulating someone.

I think you did a marvelous job and especially for standing up for yourself. That's one of the hardest things to do! Good job ~ Congrats! :o)
