I agree with Lara. I think you are old enough to make these decisions for yourself without having to deal with everyone's crap. People are always going to think they know what is best for you, but like she said, you need to listen to your body and do what YOU think is best. You have time to try the meds if that is what you want to do. But if you think that these meds are going to screw you up and push you into mania and having manic episodes, then try the therapy first. There is no point in choosing something right away that has an almost sure chance of hurting you (due to family history). I will praying for you as you make this decision. I'm a little "fired up" today if you can't tell. Take care of yourself and do what you think is right for you and don't let people push you into something that you are not ready for.
