I live in manchester so i know what you mean about the weather. I just wanted to tell you my present strategy - it's totally un-ed, so you might not appreciate it, but yyou don't have to read it! I'm 5'10" and 11 stone - bang in the middle pof a healthy weight, but needless to say, i'm very unhappy at this weight. I've been mia on and off for 11 years, and recently have ranged between 11 and 14 stone (ugh). I've heard all the advice - starving makes you binge, fill up on healthy food etc until its coming out of my ears. I've suffered from depression for as long as i can remember, but recently i've (completely spontaneously) started to come out of it. I don't know whether the ed's linked, but the past couple of weeks something's changed. I reasoned that since i was binging/throwing up constantly and not losing weight, then i may just as well accept my weight staying the same for a while and eat 3 meals a day. I haven't been restricting, but i haven't eaten between meals (which for me is a miracle) and, which i find baffling, i haven't put on weight. I'm not saying you can necessarily do this - i've been trying for many years, and i wouldn't for a minute say i'm recovered, but i just wanted to say, if this can happen for me, it can happen for anyone. I still aim for an extremely unsafe weight, but i'm willing to put everything on hold at the moment. I think it helps that i'm busy - i've got my dog to look after, and i'm applying for jobs and going for interviews as well as loads of voluntary work. So, sorry for all the waffle, and if you're still reading, i hope you can go with Deb and Basil and lose weight if you want, but also take care of your health. There's people around here who care about you. Remember that, take care, and let us know how you're doing.
