Subject: Chuck,Danny, and Eric

All you nice folks who lived close to Raton and knew all the guys personally in the early days are so lucky! I'm in awe of the Chuck Tharp stories that have been posted on this board since his untimely passing away. I wasn't so lucky;I lived in Toronto,Canada in the early '60s and all I knew of the band was what I heard on the 1st album and what the liner notes said ( I missed BOTH American Bandstand appearances, darn it!) so there's historical stuff I don't know and maybe y'all do. Question #1: Chuck and Danny both played excellent rhythm guitar. Why wasn't Chuck playing rhythm from the beginning? Did he want to just concentrate on singing? Did he join the band after Danny already had the rhythm guitar spot? Question #2: The liner notes on my copy of the 1st album don't mention Danny at all.Did he play on those tracks? Did Chuck? did they switch off? I only hear George's lead and the rhythm guitar, and it sounds like the rhythm parts were all done by the same player, except maybe "Bulldog"-that sounds a little different.Question #3:I've heard that Uncle Sam made Eric an offer he couldn't refuse and he left the band. Can anyone talk about Eric's post-Fireballs career? He's just too classy a player not to have made a mark somewhere.
