Subject: Si's trip to China, mainly about shopping!

About my trip!

I have had my first accupuncture ever...it was really painful in the beginning then I got used to it and it wasn't that bad, after like a month! I was only meant to be going with my grandma because she was getting treatment for her stomach, which hurts every 10 days. So I went along and after the first day of waiting which was BORING, I decided, since I'm there I might as well get punctured!

I must say nothing seems to be different even after I got the treatment, nothing seems better than before! There was this very cute kid who also goes to accupuncture everyday. He had to get his ENTIRE head needled!! I mean, if that was me, I would be so freaked! He also had to get his arms. legs and feet needled! And he does this EVERYDAY! I think he can't walk properly...so the needles are meant to help him walk, so something like that! This is just my guess from all the small talk that I heard the doctors say.

My trip consisted a lot of shopping! Most of it was CDs but now that I look at my CD collection, I realise that there isn't actually THAT much! hehehe, maybe I just want more, but everything seems so expensive here now that I've lived a month there!

I brought heaps of manga though! I had to stash the manga everywhere! If I didn't seperate it, then it probably would have been too heavy to bring back all at once! And Mum said that it was probably a bad idea to send it via ship, so she said that everything would fit into the bags that we had!

Beijing was also another highlight of my trip! The tourist sights were okay but because of the BJ olympics everything was under construction so we didn't get to see that much of the sights, just a bit of everything! I mean, we were only in the Forbidden City for 2 hours! We walked a straight line down the middle of the FC and that was it, we couldn't even go into the side buildings to see what they were about because everything was being renovated!!

The best thing about BJ was the SNOW! It snowed very very lightly before I left, and that was SOOOOOOO exciting! I mean, the snow that we picked off the ground was still dirty because of all the dust but it was snow! My bro, sis and I made a tiny snowman! It was up to my knee when we finished. I wanted a massive one that was taller than me, but there wasn't enough snow to make that big a snow ball! Also, you know when you see a snowball roll down a mountain and it because bigger and bigger on TV, well, that round shape that it keeps is just lie. I rolled my snowball in the snow and it was VERY hard to keep the round shape going! I had to patch snow onto the sides after every roll!

And then the whole new year deal! I think I saw the funniest thing this year! Some distant relatives of ours gave my grandma like 6 red packets because she brought them this huge hamper of stuff. So we go home and my grandma is opening her money and one of the red packets are EMPTY! No money! All the other ones only had 5 bucks in it, so she didn't get that much! I wonder if the empty red packet has any meaning?!

New Year was good for one thing: the after New Year Specials! There weren't that much on the stuff that I would actually want but after the New Year was over, not all the shops were open, so only some were open for business and there weren't that many people pushing and shoving like usual. Also some people were desperate to make a sale would sell you stuff considerably cheap! I hate the store keepers that say they will sell you something for the price that you want it AFTER you've paid for everything else and is about to leave that store! I mean, jeez, I just took out my money and paid and put the change back in, all ready to leave and they say fine you can have that!

I ignore those people, if I was that desperate to have that thing then I would have gotten it at original price. There was this one calendar that I liked (but didn't really want) and she wouldn't sell it me for 50c less...until I'm about to leave that is! What a pain!! I didn't get it, serves them right!

And there was this manga store that really ticked me off because i was like buying hundreds of dollars of stuff and I say can you give me something as a free gift (since I'm buying so much)...and the lady no and even started packing the books that i had choosen away, so I was like OK...whatever...I can go, there's like 5 manga book stores in this shopping centre apart from yours...

Anyway, just before I left China, I went back to the shopping centre to buy more manga and after I had brought my manga I went to the stall that had rejected me before and passed by them, with all my manga. Then I passed them again, and again! I forget how many times...hahahaha! Just to make them see I didn't appreciate their retail attitude!

I got this pair of really cool earrings that hang on your ears! That's right they HANG! Not clip-ons and no hole ones, hang-ons!! It's really cool, because even if you wear one you still look cool! I'll show you guys when I get a time to take a photo!!!!

Okay that's it for now, my yahoo thing has finished d/l so now i"m going to post this on the forum!
