Not that my lecturers have ever wanted to go into detail... but yeah.

And the last Buddha was born around...489 CE (AD) ??? I think? It's till debated (some peeps say 500 but they're wrong), and it's around about that time that so many of these Buddhist texts were actually written so I guess heaps of them aren't technically ancient. Just old.
