Subject: Astroseries AI

I was checking out Anubis' web site and I saw a comment about the AI (Artificial Intelligence) of Astroseries being pretty much crazy. I pretty much think that, too. Unfortunately, this is not entirely my fault. It is the fault of Stratagus. It is not very easy to influence the way it operates the internal AI, so I did my best, but I either got a very strong computer opponent, or a very wimpy one. Trsut me, I tried my best to make it quite reasonable. If you happen to be making maps for Astroseries, here is a trick to affect the AI a bit. Since you can select the starting resources of all players, you can give the computer opponents maybe one worker to start with and 50 minerals/gold/wathever, while giving you maybe two workers and maybe 200 minerals/gold/wathever. This will result in a map that is fairly comfortable to play in. You can experiment with other settings, too. For example, if you give rivals from little to no oil, and no access to it, they won't be making tanks, or at least not a lot of them, for instance. So far, thats pretty much the only way to interfer with the way the AI works. I think I will try to improve this game by the end of the year, beginning of the enxt, and will keep this in mind. Thank you all for the feedback. :-)
