I love being an American, and I agree with mostly everything Heather said (For once). However I would like to say that although this country was founded on freedom of religion, it’s Pledge of Allegiance, and its Declaration of Independence has God written in it, showing that it was also founded on Christianity.

Personally I don't mind the "American" attitude. You see I don't care what other countries think of us, as long as they're scared of us. :) I really don't mind being known as a bunch of religious fanatics, because we all are. Everyone has a religion whether it's Christian, atheist, agnostic, or something else. There is something that every individual lives their life by, and something they believe in (Including Europeans and Canadians). So having a religion is natural and a good thing.

I would love to say more, but it will come up later when we have a debate on Creation vs. Evolution, and Government vs. Church.

In conclusion, America is changing with the times, which may mean that we'll have to get rid of God in The Pledge of Allegiance, and it also means that we may lose the ways of our American heritage. America will never be the way it originally was, unless we change the way we portray ourselves in our media. And the only way to do that is to make new laws, which will limit freedoms, and so on... Therefore we need to just let people think what they want, and let America keep progressing to something new.
