...in school, I did read a story that took the lords name in vain several times. So actually our school isn't doing this. But I still would like to not have to read those words anyway.

Just because you don't want to read it, doesn't mean the school should get rid of it. If you get rid of a book because you find it offensive then you are taking away everyone else's choice. If the book is in the library you don't have to read it. But if it isn't in the library, I can't read it. Tell me how on earth that is fair. Censorship is all about keeping people from information. Censorship enforces the views of a few people by restricting the rights of many people. You don't ever have to watch a movie, or listen to a CD, or read a book, but if those things get taken away or censored then no one has a choice anymore.
I don't mind that a record store like Hastings sells edited copies of CDs and movies. I have a problem with places like Wal-Mart that sell only edited copies. I have chosen to take a political stand against Wal-Mart because Wal-Mart has restricted my choice to listen to material that some may find offensive. Obviously I can't boycott Wal-Mart outright because we really have no other options here so I won't buy CD's or movies from Wal-Mart. I realize that my personal boycott of Wal-Mart's Entertainment Center isn't really effecting them. I'm one person, but that's the beauty of leadership.
In the end I don't mind editing until my choice is taken away. When I'm not given a choice, censorship becomes no better than propaganda. Like I stated in my original argument, I believe Censorship is the end of free thought.
