(She let her eyes trail over him as he slipped into the water, sipping lightly from her wine and letting the alcohol warm her from the inside out as she smiled at his attempt to cover up for his girlie bathroom.) I would say I like it too, but that wouldn't matter since I am a girl. (She winked, taking another sip of her wine as she thought about her answer to his question, wondering how much she should tell him.) I guess it was to prove to myself and everyone else that I could do it, and well. I've always been very athletic and always had people look down at me for my height and because I am a woman.. so when the chance to join the military came along in high school I jumped at it. (She pulled her lower lip between her teeth for a moment and then smiled, setting the glass on the edge of the tub and contemplated their situation.) I got offered a position in the Army Rangers and was partnered up with my then fiance.. I watched him get tortured and killed on the job and when the army turned it's back on me in the field I had to get myself out of the situation and by the time I got back here they had already claimed innocence in knowing I was still alive.. and after a year of attempting to work with several other partners I quit and took my job with the department of defence. (She wondered what it meant that she had been able to work with him when no one else had been able to work with her.)

He took that in with a slight nod and another sip of wine before he let out a soft breath and tipped his head to the side, watching her. "How long ago was this?" He questioned softly, that would be a hard thing to go through, even worse then what Haylie had seen happen to Kyr and she seemed to be dealing remarkably well with it which impressed him. It was hard to find a woman who had a good grip on her emotions and could handle a crisis as well as she had and that was definately a trait to be admired. If he had seen someone he had loved be hurt like that he didn't thik he could be working quite as well as she was. (NT) -- Skeeter, 02.19
