I have not competed, but I am working toward a show in a little less than a year. We'll see where I am in 9 months.
I haven't to this point for several reasons. One, I am a mom of 6, homeschooling 4 kids ( 2 in the public High School), very involved in church as are my kids and that takes tones of time. I am also trying to find time to study for my test (ISSA certification). It is very hard to get in all the things that I really know are THE MOST IMPORTANT things. To deal with the mental, physical and emotional aspects of getting ready for a show was/is not something I'm sure I can/could allow myself to induldge in.
Another reason I have not is because I haven't liked the thought of trying to mold my body into somebody elses image of what they think it should be, standing on stage and then "placing me" compared to others.
But I was given a challenge by my Dad to do a show with him next May that just happens to be on my 40th birthday. At first I just laughed him off,, but then I thought,, oh why the heck not,,, it'll at least motivate me to get out of my stagnancy. We'll see what I can do :)
