Subject: Adieu, Adios, Au Revoir Ch 28

[Well this is either the second or third to last part. Yay, I'm just about done. Once again, sorry for the gap but you
know how RL gets. As always feedback is appreciated. I LOVE you guys!]

Ch 28
The scene inside the Horton house was chaotic to say the least. People were running around all over the place, trying
to finish the final preparations for the long awaited brady-Horton wedding. Alice was finishing up Carrie's bouquet.
The young woman had begged her to make one for her. SHe'd searched through countless magazines and finally
decided she wanted one with a Horton woman's touch. Naturally Alice had agreed. Even at her old age she'd hae
gone to the moon and back if it would make this wedding go off without a hitch. After all, Alice Horton was one of
the earliest Mike and Carrie supporters and this wedding was a long time in coming, too long.
Upstairs, Mike was spending some time with his son. Jeremy had arrived months earlier while Mike was still in the
hospital and the two had grown closer during his dad's recovery. Jeremy knew how much his dad loved Carrie and
was happy that he had finally found true love. His own love life was not as successful. He had falled for Chloe Lane
but there were just too many obstacles, namely the fact that her parents had nearly destroyed his father's life. He
hadn't been able to get past it and she had ended up with Philip Kiriakis. But for today he was casting aside his regret
and focusing on his dad. It was amazing to see him like this. He was acting like and anxious teenager about to go out
on his first date. The poor guy couldn't even tie his tie he was so nervous.
"Here Dad, let me help. We both know you'll never manage on your own."
"Thanks son. A part of me can't believe this day has finally come. I've waited so long for it."
"I know dad. Listen, I wanted you to know I'm happy for you."
"That means a lot to me Jeremy, more than you know."
Lucas was there too, in fact he was to be Mike's best man. He couldn't believe how far the two of them had come.
Through all the stupid things he'd done, Mike had continued to stand by him for no reason. Mike said it was because
Lucas was partly responsable for bringing him and Carrie together. Lucas still couldn't believe that his scheming plot
to get carrie would eventually lead here.
The most notable face around the Horton House was Jennifer. No one had expected her to come but there was no
way she'd miss this. Mike was her big brother and Carrie was one of her closest friends. This was a union created in
Heaven.
"I'm so excited!" Abby told her mom. "Uncle Mike is finally going to marry Auntie Carrie."
"Hold still Abigail. I'm trying to do your hair."
"How much longer til the wedding starts Mommy?"
"Not long at all, especially considering how long we've waited for it."

But the Horton house was nothing compared to the Brady residence. The Pub was closed and everyone in the whole
clan was there to help Carrie on her special day. Marlena couldn't take her eyes off her. She had finally admitted that
she was wrong and Mike was in fact right for her little girl. Even though she knew that Carrie wasn't her blood, she
would always feel like her mother.
Roman beamed with pride as he watched her. She'd already put on her dress and now Hope was doing her hair. Her
wedding to Austin hadn't been the same. He had been too preoccupied with dying to truly participate in the occasion.
But that didn't matter now. Mike was the man Carrie belonged with.
Hope was loving this. Carrie was already her niece and now she would also be her cousin in law. Plus, she had a little
extra place in her heart for another Brady-Horton match. She'd offered to do Carrie's hair and makeup for the
occasion. She knew how much Carrie wanted to avoid public places on her wedding day. There was a certain stigma
that went with getting married in Salem. Sooner or later someone would mention the affair and that was the last thing
any of them needed.
Sami had volunteered to watch Alyssia while all this was going on. She and Carrie had at last called a truce and had in
fact become quite close. Now that Carrie was with Mike and Sami was with Brandon, there was no need to
compete. Will loved his little cousin. He liked not being the baby any more. Lyssia was still a fragile little girl but she
was growing stronger every day. Her last check-up had shown no residual affects from her ordeal and she appeared
perfectly healthy and happy.

Austin stood outside the Pub and watched in secret. He had to admit this hurt him. He had let Carrie go long ago but
he had never stopped loving her. He would also never stop loving little Lyssia. Carrie and Mike had been kind enough
to let him be a part of her life. They had even named him her god-father. The honour meant more to him than he could
express. It almost made up for the fact that one day she would look at Mike and say "Da-Da".

As the clock struck 2 in Salem the guests had all gathered at St Luke's. Mike was standing at the altar with Lucas and
the priest was ready to begin. A sleak white limo pulled up in front and she stepped out, ready and anxious to begin
the rest of her life. It was time.
