Subject: Texas Scramble

The times i've played Texas scramble it's only neeb over 9 holes and was used as a warm up session in the morning of a large 18 hole event. It's a good craic over 9 holes but 18 holes of this format will get boring and could also make for a very long day.

Somewhere like Thornbury could be good because you could play 9 holes on the par 3 course to begin with, grab a bite to eat then go out and play 18 in the usual stableford format but that's possibly the best way to incorporate a texas Scramble event.

Coupled with Touty's comments about the time it takes to play and paying a full green fee it's a no from me for 18 holes of Texa Scramble but i'd be up for a 9 hole event before the actual 18 hole main event.

Regards
