As we swooped low over the gathering crowd on Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas, what struck me was the profusion of red flags. We couldn’t linger over the area long, however, since our pilot warned me that we might collide with the ABS-CBN helicopter which was hovering over the growing demonstration, obviously determined to put everything on camera.
In truth, television crews were filming it as if doing a movie production. TV cameras were perched on specifically built platforms overlooking the avenue, grinding away.
The "government" spotters were doing their own filming, too, I’ve heard, listing down the personalities who joined the demonstration.
I won’t dwell on Goma and Judy Ann who had been cruelly harassed on alleged "tax evasion" (but their accuser, Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Willy Parayno has jumped ship, and is also calling for GMA to "relinquish" her post). But the notables seen were former Commission on Elections Chairperson Harriet Demetriou (with Susan), former Sen. and Ambassador Ernie Maceda, Congressman Butz Aquino, Roy Señeres, former Quezon City Mayor Mel Mathay, former Solicitor-General Frank Chavez, ex-Senator Kit Tatad, movie star Rudy Fernandez, actresses Gloria Diaz and Lorna Tolentino, etc. What about Brother Eddie Villanueva’s faithful battalions?
The anti-GMA rally was impressively large: But too many there actually hated each other

Bro. Eddie’s Gift Bag -
After arriving from Israel last June 22, evangelist Brother Eddie Villanueva held a press conference at the Makati Sports Club where he urged President Arroyo to speak up and tell the truth about the wiretapped conversation with an election official. He asked whether Mrs. Arroyo still had the moral ascendancy to lead the nation. “Let it all be the start of a new beginning, to recover our self-respect on our way to building a morally upright society,” Bro. Eddie said of the political crisis.
After his 30-minute press conference before a function room packed with his Bangon Pilipinas supporters, Bro. Eddie’s staff distributed a plastic FILA gift bag to reporters and photographers who covered the event. It contained a pair of FILA socks, a FILA wristband, and a video CD about Bro. Eddie and Bangon Pilipinas.
Moral ascendancy, did he say?

JUST BECAUSE OF CHANNEL 7?!
On TV, Vhong is practically a property of ABS-CBN. His fellow mainstay gagster on Wazzup, Wazzup—the pretty Toni Gonzaga—is his leading lady in D’ Anothers.
The film is meant for the young, so it has a virtual crowd of young stars from the ABS-CBN talent pool, Star Magic, including John Prats, Joross Gamboa, Roxanne Guinoo and Jill Yulo who is being romantically linked to Vhong off-cam. This seemingly ends his romantic entanglement with the sexy star Diana Zubiri, an affair that his manager disapproves of since Diana is identified with the rival network, GMA 7.
D’ Anothers opens on July 27.
