‘SOP’ airs GMA Pinoy TV’s San Francisco launch

July 23 marked a milestone not only for GMA Network but also
for the Filipino community in the West Coast as the Philippines’
brightest and most talented performers staged a spectacular
concert party at the cavernous Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
in San Francisco, California. The momentous event celebrated
GMA Network’s official launch of its international channel,
GMA Pinoy TV, in the USA mainland.
Today, July 31, the GMA Pinoy TV San Francisco launch will be aired
by "SOP" so that Filipinos in the country will get to witness the
monumental event that elicited delightful feedback from Filipino-
Americans who attended the whole-day affair and remains to be the
topic of conversations among showbiz insiders as well as the general
public. And who wouldn’t be amazed by the resounding success
of the GMA Pinoy TV launch? Not only did the Filipino-American
community in the US exceed GMA Network’s expectation, they
gave encouraging feedback and support for GMA Pinoy TV’s
US entry.
The audience count reached 8,000 at the Bill Graham Stadium,
which only has a regular capacity of 7,000. The production
team even had to add about 1,000 more chairs to accommodate
the Filipino–American audience that excitedly trooped to the
venue.
Aptly dubbed "SOP in SanFo: The GMA Pinoy TV USA Launch,"
today’s "SOP" special presentation features the stunning
production numbers that sampled the world-class entertainment
the concert TV is known for. Well-applauded and talked about
to this day, the "SOP" San Francisco presentation was packed
with brilliant performances from the country’s premier concert
artists, led by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, queen of soul
Jaya, top balladeer Janno Gibbs, sensational singer–composer
Ogie Alcasid, box office idol Richard Gomez, sexy siren
Rufa Mae Quinto, comedy icon Joey de Leon, master showman
and TV legend German Moreno, and multi-awarded broadcast
journalist and program host Mel Tiangco.
Complementing the top GMA stars’ presence were young idols
Jolina Magdangal, Dingdong Dantes, Karylle, KC Montero,
Gabby Eigenmann, Malik, Chynna Ortaleza, Mark Herras,
Jennylyn Mercado, and twin heartthrobs Richard and
Raymond Gutierrez.
Aside from the grand "SOP" concert party, GMA Pinoy TV’s
San Francisco launch also featured a day-long "Fiesta GMA,"
also inside the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Hosted by
German Moreno and Lucy Torres-Gomez, "Fiesta GMA" proved
to be one amusing festival where countless Filipino-Americans,
who lined up outside the venue area as early as 7:30 a.m.,
toured around various exhibition booths offering unique
Kapuso services. There were also live bands, singing
competition, dance exhibitions, sample footages of
GMA’s top rating programs played back on dozens of
TV sets all over the place, and life-size standees of
GMA stars with which fans could have their photos taken.
"SOP in SanFo: The GMA Pinoy TV USA Launch" will be aired today,
in the "SOP" timeslot, 12 noon, on GMA.

participate siya sa launching ng GMA-7 Pinoy TV sa Bill Graham
Auditorium kung saan nag-karoon doon ng show ang buong grupo ng SOP.
Mapapanood na ito sa Sunday sa timeslot ng SOP.
Ang ikinasaya ni Ogie ay ang bagong programa niya sa network. Bukod
