Launch coincided with Juliet Dayrit-Dizon,
Mohegan Sun's Asian Marketing Director's
birthday bash!
Uncasville, CT—Mohegan Sun and Group Ole' went public with
promotional materials for the concert slated April 2, 2006.
Juliet Dayrit-Dizon, Mohegan Sun's Asian Marketing Director
and Dr. Ramon Legarda of Group Ole' played perfect host to
a ballroom full of guest and press representatives from all
over New England and the Tri-state area. Equally gracious
Teryl Ann Santos, Asian Marketing Executive Host, assisted
Dayrit-Dizon who happened to be celebrating her birthday.
Kudos to the Caucasian Chefs who daringly (and bravely)
served sumptuous Asian cuisine to mostly Asian guests.
Hopping music was provided by Connecticut's own, DJ Flipnoy
(Melanie & Irwin Goingo, Stephen Goingo and Jonathan Balatay).

The concert will feature the Philippines' Concert Queen Pops
Fernandez and Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez with special
guest singer/songwriter/businessman Jose Mari Chan.
Mohegan Sun Arena is a signature attraction for Mohegan Sun Resort
and Casino located in this city. It is the world's second largest
casino, perched on some 240 acres of land along the banks of
Thames River. Being at the heart of the scenic foothills of
southeastern Connecticut where 60 percent of the state tourism
is concentrated, it is a premier tourist destination.
The management is very excited with this venture with Group
Ole' states Dayrit-Dizon. The Filipino artists appearance in
the 5,000-seat Arena is a milestone for Filipino entertainers
adds Dr. Legarda. Mohegan Sun's catchy "A world at play" can be
put to the test - While the concert starts at 2:00 PM, one can
have a full day's entertainment, as Mohegan Sun is a world to
its own. There is plenty of fine dining and retail shopping.
Even children can visit the fabulous Kids Quest/Cyber Quest
family entertainment facility. Marvel at the indoor 7-story
waterfall, the world's largest and most spectacular planetarium
dome and the awe-inspiring Wombi Rock, a glowing crystal
mountain made of imported stone that serves as the focal
point of the Casino of the Sky. The whole Filipino-American
community will be celebrating the biggest musical event
with Pops, Regine and Jose Mari!

A little about the artists:
- CONCERT QUEEN -
Maria Cielito "Pops" Lukban Fernandez started her career
at age 16, and is still one of the most popular concert artists
in the Philippines. Outside of being a singer, she is a doting
mother to two boys. She has also acted in a number of movies
(Just Say You Love Me, Give Me Five, Paano ba ang Magmahal
and Shoot That Ball). She remains one of the hosts of the
popular variety show ASAP, on the Philippine Channel 2.
Her songs are often featured on Internet broadcaster PhilRadio
International, expanding her worldwide audience.

- THE SONGBIRD -
Regina Encarnacion "Regine" Ansong Velasquez, is a multiple
genre singer, actress, model, entrepreneur, and record producer.
Outside the Philippines, she is known for the song "In Love with
You" sung with Hong Kong's Jacky Cheung. She has collaborated
with other international artists like Paul Anka, David Hasselhoff,
98 Degrees, Mandy Moore, Brian McKnight and Michel Legrand.

-THE SONG/MUSIC MAN -
Jose Mari Chan composed his first song, Afterglow, in 1964,
and has since written hundreds of songs. He has degree in
economics from the Ateneo de Manila University. Among his
compositions are "We're All Just One," the theme song of the
2005 Southeast Asian Games, "Beautiful Girl," "Tell Me Your
Name," "Deep in my Heart" and "Please be Careful with my Heart"
recorded with Regine. He is known as the "Filipino Jimmy Webb."

Mohegan Sun to offer Filipino event giveaway!
MOHEGAN Sun will be offering a special promotion drawing
to concert goers at the Pops Fernandez/Regine Velasquez
Concert on Sunday, April 2,2006.
Patrons, 21 years and older and with proper ID, will be invited
to apply for a “Player’s Club” card. Inside the arena, they will
be directed to sweep their cards at the Arena Concourse Promotional
Kiosks, thus generating an entry form that is to be deposited
in the drums located at the Arena Concourse.
One first place winner will receive $1,000 in cash,
check, chips or any combination thereof.
One second place winner will receive
500 Player’s Club points
on their Player’s Club account
One third place winner will receive
400 Player’s Club points
on their Player’s Club account
One fourth place winner will receive
300 Player’s Club points
on their Player’s Club account
One fifth place winner will receive
200 Player’s Club points
on their Player’s Club account
One sixth place winner wil receive
100 Player’s Club points
on their Player’s Club account
Winners will be drawn from the drums shortly
after the concert.
