Steve sounds like you may not getting enough salt into the ear for curing.The salt locks all hair into the cape and ears.Turn ears out when salting and be sure to get all little hidden pieces of meat out as in my post earlier with pics showing where hidden area is.Its here on the page.If not I will re~post.Larry
