Mike, welcome to the Forums,,Hey take a flexable tape measure (cloth type or material type) and measure the end of the nose to the corner of the eye, thats Measurement "A".Then right up behind the ears and around the neck is Measurement "B".Then order your manakin.Naturally try to get manakin as close to your measurements as pssible. However understand that your NOSE~~~>To Eye is the most critical,in that you have to have that length nose to eye for him first to look the same as your deer. But on the neck mesurement,if the neck is a little big,you can sand it down or if its to small, build it up with mache and smooth,or
I take the measurement with cape on,,then take my neck measurement with cape off, that way I can build that deer back just the right size in the neck.Notice also if their is swell to measure that as well,(3 inches behind ears) and build it accordingly.

If you send your cape in you will have some stretch but understand that you will only have a little so your manakin will need to be very close once you build or sand down as you do not want to have more than just a little space to stretch the sides of the cape together when sewing or yiou will tear the leather since most tanneries thin their hides, and sewing thread will cut leather if you have to strecth it to much.My best to ya! Larry
