Anyone that has judged for me can tell you that I am somewhat forward with what I am looking for in a Queen. Both for our Festival Pageant and my USA/MRS America Prelim I give my judges and the contestants very straight forward list of judging guidelines. I think that is the best way to ensure that we get the type of Queen we want, and we can ask a variety of folks to judge for us then. I can use a typical "Festival" judge for a pageanty pageant. When you define what you are looking for and define what the judges should look for in your contestant's, you can not go wrong. I also think that because I am so particular it is important to give the same info to the girls, that way everyone is on equal footing. It also lets the girls know if my judges will be concerned with taupe shoes and nude hose or if they can dress trendy and not have point taken off.
