日本隊今屆終於收成正果，除了獲得首場勝仗之外，更打入了十六強，已經達到賽前的目標。這一切除了有賴主場之利，以及近十年來各方面的配合與大眾的努力之外，有一位對日本球壇無甚直接關係、卻又舉足輕重的人物必須予以衷心的感謝。

他就是高橋陽一。

相信你與我都差不多年紀，足球小將這套經典中的經典也沒有多少人未看過吧？二十年前，日本並不流行足球，對他們來說，棒球才是國粹。

高橋陽一寫下了足球小將這部經典漫畫，在當時燃亮了一眾小孩子的心。

今日的眾多日本國腳中，有不少都承認自己小時候看過足球小將這部漫畫，當中更包括中田英壽。要是沒有足球小將，也許真的沒有今日這班足球小將。一股足球熱，在高橋陽一協助下引進了日本。

原來，傳媒的力量真箇如此驚人！

絕對要多謝高橋陽一！要是日本也會在年頭頒發MBE的話，高橋陽一值得受勳。
