• She patted Aislinn on the head as she zoomed by, going as fast as her little bowed toddlers legs could carry her, and looked up from the leaves of Romaine lettuce that she was rinsing off. She really enjoyed having this crew over - it was a bunch of them, but Peter being older, he sort of shepherded over the younger ones and things ended up working out alright - she enjoyed having Mia over so that she would have better conversational partners than 2 year olds. Though they hadn't been very close, their little families seemed to draw them closer now. "Well, they're not hoodlums anymore.. so hopefully they can hold their tongues." • She grinned a little thinking about how her brother had changed. He was no longer the needy boy that he had been back when he was a teen and in his early twenties. He was a successful business man, all suits and ties, and an incredable father. This house was beautiful and it spoke of his success. Shaking her head out of her thoughts, she looked up as the boy of the moment walked in. Gabe was dressed in a sharp black suit, light pinstripes accenting it - black on black with a silk blue tie. • They'd settled into a comfortable sort of existence - most people believed them to be "together" now, but it couldn't be officially said that they shared a bedroom or that they could be classified that way - they were always together, and they lived in the same house, and they were, essentially best friends, but that was as far as it spanned. She did tip her face up for his lips, though, smiling a little - she'd adapted to life as a kept woman with a little bit of a fight. She rolled her eyes a bit, turning back to the leaves of the lettuce with a small smile crooking one corner of her lips. She turned back, in time to spot Aislinn coming for another lap through the kitchen, where she caught her, "Slow down, hon, you're gonna fall, and that wouldn't be good." " He winked at his sister, tugging her hair playfully as he settled at the island in the middle of kitchen, settling there with the now coo'ing baby girl. Before long Zee came in to see his daddy and Peter too. A good conversation ensued, Gabe, as always, completely attentive to all the children as they babbled on to him. • It was tender moments like these, when she did see what a good father that he was, that she felt immensely guilty and broken over not being able to give him his own, the way that things had originally been planned. She pressed her lips together, nodding a little bit, absently, her eyes pasted on her son and Gabe's, being treated as equals, before she cleared her throat and looked up. "Yeah.. who would have thought when we were kids that he would grow up like this?"// Years and maturity had passed on both of these guys - Bo now successful in his own rights, holding things together with his own family just fine, and Gabe doing well for himself - they weren't the most social people in the world, but Bo did his best when he could, both for Mariah and for Ace as well, knowing that this whole situation had to be a little trying for her at times. • She grinned a little, leaning back against the countertop, a dishtowel still in her hands, and surveyed him, swinging the towel back and forth for a moment, one corner of her lips tilted up a little bit. "I am excited.. and I'll be more excited when everyone else leaves and we can just sit and have a glass of wine." She did love having them around, but she equally loved having a quiet moment with him, just sitting in the apholstered swinging bench on the porch or in the living room. Since they had a moment alone, she finally set the towel aside, reaching forward to ruffle the little bit of curl he was letting grow out - he talked about getting it trimmed again, but she begged him to let it go every single time.   • The only real issues Mia had was with Kelcey and Sarah. She would always fight with feeling second place, second rate since Bo had lost both of them and then turned to her. It made her marriage never seem completely whole - more like it was something they were supposed to do, so thats what they did. They got married, they raised their family, all because it was what they were expected to do. Thats the way she felt most of the time anyways. "She did some of it." She smiled lightly, taking a step back as the kids came in to see hello to their father and uncle. // Gabe smiled, brushing back her hair as she pressed a sweet kiss to the top of her head. • He was fully prepared for a handshake, but as Gabe's hands were fulled, he stuffed it back in his pocket, his free arm still around Mia - "Hey Gabe, how's life treatin' ya?" Rarely anyone called him Avery - it just served to remind him that they were not the best of friends, and probably never would be. // She grinned a little, setting aside her things and turning from the counter to go to Bo and lean on tip toe to give him a warm hug, which he returned, and a kiss on the cheek.
