I was able to use the existing tranny x-member brackets coming off of the frame/floorpan. I did have to trim them back to make room for the 3" exhaust, but the part that you need with the single bolt hole going through it is near the frame. These existing brackets were almost in a dead line across the trans mount on the tranny in my car.I used a piece of 2" angle to run between the frame rails and made brackets to connect it to the trimmed back existing x-member mounts. When the setup is complete, you weld the fabricated mounts to the frame. The 2" angle will bolt to the welded mounts so it can be removed. You will also need to do a build-up in the center of the cross member to get the back of the tranny at the same level you set the motor plate up with. This level will effect your header, distributor and steering shaft clearance you setup during the motor plate install. The cross member will be the biggest fabricating part on the whole swap. Look at the pics below to see how I did it. Everybody I'm sure will do this different. The 2" angle on my car still needs to be trimmed up for looks. I used the cut off AJE Chevy motor mounts to make my brackets with. At least I got something out of that expensive k-member!
Also keep in mind when you make the brackets that the x-member has to sit low enough that you can run your exhaust between it and the floorpan.
