Will the Chevy II headers work with a AJE K member and motor mounts or do they only work with a motor plate?

Lemmons went to AJE and asked them to build the k-member. Their headers are the only one's built around the k-member construction. I called and talked to Anthony Jones himself, so that came direct from the source.
That's not to say you can't have a custom set built. I couldn't get a quality set built in Houston any cheaper than the $975 that Lemmons wanted. I heard that Lemmons went up on their pricing recently.

The Hooker Chevy II headers are almost a dead fit with the motor plate. I don't know of any other full length header that comes even close to working. The problem comes in on the drivers side with the steering shaft.

I tried some 70-81 Camaro headers with the AJE member and almost got the pass. side on, but had to dent the hell out of it. No way on the drivers side unless you move 2 or 3 tubes. You have to create a path for the steering shaft to go through.

You said you had tried a set of 70-81 camaro headers with the AJE k member and they didn't fit .. does it look like the ChevyII headers you are using now with the motorplate will clear the motor mounts on the AJE k member?? Thanks!

I tried the Chevy II headers before I cut off the AJE mounts. Sorry, nothing but Lemmons or a fab shop will help you with those motor stands.
