i have a 1990 lx coupe mustang, 5.0 5 speed, the little 302 motor does'nt really cut it for me on power, my brother has a build, strong running 406 sbc and build turbo 350 transmission that i would love to put in this little coupe and try & make a sleeper with it. i am just want to know a little about the swap? i see they sell aftermarket k-memebers, but have to pay around $800.00 for headers. what about a motor plate? will it be easier to find cheaper headers using plate? does anyone sell a bolt in trans. crossmember for a 350 turbo.? i would like any info possible. thanks marc

I HAVE DONE 4 CHEVY SMALL BLOCKS INSTALLS IN FOX BODIES, HOW I DO IS BUT THE CHEAP DYNOMAX HEADERS FROM ADVANCE AUTO, BUILD ME A SMALLER STEERING SHAFT VERY EASYLY DONE,I LIKE MY MOTOR BACK AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FOR GREAT WEIGHT TRANSFER, I WILL BANG IN THE FIRERWALL WITH A HAMMER SO MY MSD DIST WILL CLEAR NICE, THEN CUT WEBS FROM STOCK K-MEMBER, THEN DROP IN ENGINE AND TRANS HANGING ON THE HOIST, INSTALL HEADERS, YOU CAN NOW MOVE FORWARD AND BACK TO GET HEADER CLEARENCE, DRIVER SIDE MAY NEED A LITTLE PART OF HEADER DING IN FOR CLEARENCE, THE USE SOME FLAT 4 BOLT CHEVY MOTOR MOUNTS YOU CAN THEN WELD A PEICE OF FLAT STEEL PLATE TO THEM, DRILL HOLE MOUMT TO STOCK K-MEMBER, THIS WORKS GREAT AND LOTS OF SAVE CASH, GOOD LUCK

What is the best and cheapest headers to use with a stock K-MEMBER? What else will I have to look out for when doing this. I have a 80 mustang that came with a stright 6. Will I have to change to a V-8 K-Member or can I cut it to make the motor fit?
