If you were going to cut your frenulum with a knife you would just cut where you needed it cut.If you are using a peice of thread you need to first pull the thread through the frenulum and then loop it over and pull it through again so that it starts to cut into the skin.Imagine if you tied a peice of thread around your finger and tightened it until it began to cut your skin.Put your frenulum in place of your finger and tie the string around your frenulum and tighten until it begins to dig in and cut the skin.I would say you need to place the thread almost directly behind the crown behind the V shaped area.
