Yes, for a TN-1-acceptable letter, it must have the following elements:
1) the position must clearly state that a MLS is required for the job
2) state clearly that the position is a professional librarian
3) the term of employment is one-year less a day (eg. September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2008)
If your letter doesn't have the dates, get them to revise it.
