MISS INDIANA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN

MISS FLORIDA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN
WIN PRELIMINARY AWARDS






Miss Indiana's Outstanding Teen, Lydia Daley, was named Tuesday night's preliminary talent winner at the Linda Chapin Theater in the Orange County Convention Center during the first night of competition. Also in the spotlight was Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen, Myrrhanda Jones, who won the preliminary award for Evening Wear.

MAOT, the "little sister" to Miss America, hosts its national competition in Orlando during the week of August 11-15, 2009 with 52 state representatives competing in various competitions for a chance to win over $30,000 in college scholarships and the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen. The competition will be held in the Linda Chapin Theatre at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Subject: In my opinion Wed night talent was VERY strong. The BLUE group is by far the toughest. I could see 4 to 5 girls in the Top 10 out of this group.The Talent winner was CA - with a very difficult ballet. I thought Texas, Miss and Idaho were also very entertaining. EG was won by NJ. I also think Va and Wash looked elegant.

Subject: Super talented girls this year! SC, GA, ID, VT and Wis are fresh teen looking faces that look like exactly like the girls, I like their natural loose hair and light makeup. They look very TEEN. Others don't look anything like their photo as it's so airbrushed (won't name names). Good luck to all the girls!

Subject: I think teen at national is pretty much a crap shoot. The top 5 and winner will be the girl that the judges like best on a particular day. Doesn't mean that any girl is better than any other. I am just really tired (already) of states saying they want a "teen" and then they pick the girl that looks most like a miss.

Subject: In Texas Interview is most important and then Talent. Having said that, no Miss Texas or Teen Texas is not IN shape nor will they be out of shape while wearing the crown during their year. You will never see an out of shapee Teen Texas...that's just a given!

Subject: Teen Texas has always worn 2-piece Physical Fitness Outfits with the midriff showing. Before MAOT, Teen Texas contestants wore one or two piece swim suits. Now they have to wear arobic wear. The two piece is perfect for 13+ year olds.
