Ralph A. Leonart and Rafael Lleonart are the same person. The name was changed sometime in the 1980's for the sake of simplicity. Ralph Leonart was born in Placetas, Cuba in 1959 and arrived in New York City as a refugee in May of 1967. He is the son of Hugo Rafael Lleonart and Libertad N. Mendez, both natives of Placetas, Cuba. Mr. Leonart is both an attorney licensed in New York and New Jersey and a licensed psychotherapist in New York State. He lives in New York City where he is senior counsel to the New York City Police Department and he sees psychotherapy patients privately. His specially is trauma and delinquency. Ralph Leonart was legal counsel to the Cuban Cultural Center of New York. He is romantically involved and lives with Osaka, Japan born New York artist Ayakoh Furukawa.
