BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! To this director!!! If more directors bringing their systems to Indiana would DOT THIS, their pageants would be more successful, enjoyable, and have more longevity. IT'S A PRELIM PEOPLE... a big ballroom, large production, etc. is for a NATIONAL PAGEANT. It makes more sense to do prelims at nice yet cheaper location, such as a community center, so that you can earn a profit, and invest it into your State and National pageant, so that you don't have to pro-rate if your State or National doesn't have a huge number of contestants. It also allows for NICER prelim prizes, trophies, and crowns. I'm so sick of seeing new pageants start up promising all these huge cash pay outs, toys, etc. only to have the pageant canceled because numbers were to low, or cash prizes pro-rated, or dollar tree toys as gifts. If more directors had some business sense their pageants wouldn't flop.
