You are making it out like you have to be a pro to win this pageant and you don't. My dd sucks in modeling, stage presence is great, smile is great and she normally scores decent but has NEVER pulled a supreme EVER.
We did Sherry's Christmas pageant the first year (and all the pageants are the same according to Sherry) and my dd won Divisional Supreme, the following year, we did the Christmas pageant again, and she was moved higher up to a optional supreme. This has boosted my daughters self esteem so much she has asked to do more and is now geering herself for Dixieland. I believe this confidence came from winning a 10 inch crown and a 3 foot stocking 2 years in a row as well as being treated like royalty!!
So I disagree with you having to be polished to win this system. If you are in it to take grand then yes, you need to be top of the game, but that is the way at ALL pageants.
At least in this pageant you can be a newbie off the street and if you play your cards right you can still walk away with a national title.
And yes, it depends on how many kids are pulled in front of you, but if you were not polished like my dd and went to do Glamour Girls or AGG my daughter would come in last place like always.
