Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I saw

Wonder Woman 1984, which was release in theaters and on HBOMax on Christmas day. I watched it safely at home on HBOMax. I loved the first Wonder Woman film in a theatre, which was so empowering, women were crying, including me. WW84 isn't quite as moving. That's partly because it takes place in the consumerism of the 80s rather than in the stark scenario of World War II. The sequel is good and Gal Gadot is awesome. Chris Pine is again, hot. But the Kristin Wiig character is sort of distracting and unneccesary. That and some other characters take away screen time from the mesmerizing Gadot. But it is definitely worth seeing. The scenes of Diana (WW) as young Amazon girl are great and there are some great effects and overall cinematography.
Since a lot of TV is on winter break, I started watching the HBOMax series The Flight Attendant with Kaley Cuoco and The Good Lord Bird on Showtime. Both are kind of crazy, but interesting enough to continue.

Bridgerton is fun, based on a set of novels, the series is by Shonda Rimes. It's kind of like Gossip Girl, with Julie Andrews narrating the stories of 8 young adults finding love and sex(!) in 1813 London. Contemporary music and an integrated cast make it feel fresh, not just another Jame Austen re-do.
The Wilds is a bit like Lost meets Hunger Games, about 9 teen girls stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash.
I want to watch WW too, really liked the first one.
