EXPOSURE DRAFT OF THE SECOND EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ARCHIVAL AUTHORITY RECORD (CORPORATE BODIES, PERSONS AND FAMILIES) - CALL FOR COMMENTS

In late 2000 the ICA Committee on Descriptive Standards (CDS) announced that it would be reviewing and revising the International Standard Archival Authority Record (Corporate Bodies, Persons and Families) - ISAAR(CPF).
Comments on the 1996 first edition of the standard were received by the Committee during 2001 and considered at plenary meetings of the Committee in Brussels (October 2001), Madrid (June 2002) and Rio de Janeiro (November
2002). As a result of these deliberations the CDS has prepared an Exposure Draft of the 2nd edition of the standard. This Exposure Draft can be viewed
on the CDS Website at: http://www.hmc.gov.uk/icacds/eng/standardsISAAR2.htm

The CDS would be pleased to receive comments on the Exposure Draft from members of the international archival community and other interested parties. Comments should be sent to the Committee Secretary at the following
address by 15 July 2003. These comments will be considered by the CDS at its next plenary meeting in Canberra, Australia in October 2003. At that meeting the 2nd edition of the standard will be finalized, with a view to
publication by the ICA in time for the ICA Congress in Vienna in August 2004.

PRESENTATION DU PROJET DE LA DEUXIEME EDITION DE LA NORME INTERNATIONALE SUR LES NOTICES D’AUTORITE ARCHIVISTIQUES (COLLECTIVITES, PERSONNES ET FAMILLES) – APPEL A COMMENTAIRES
A la fin de l’année 2000, le Comité sur les normes de description du Conseil international des Archives a fait connaître qu’il engageait le processus de révision de la norme internationale sur les notices d’autorité archivistiques (collectivités, personnes et familles) : ISAAR/CPF. Les observations relatives à la première édition (1996) ont été reçus par le Comité dans le courant de l’année 2001 et ont été pris en considération lors des sessions plénières du Comité qui se sont tenues à Bruxelles (octobre 2001), Madrid (juin 2002) et Rio de Janeiro (novembre 2002). A la suite de ces travaux, le comité a préparé un projet de texte pour la 2e édition. Ce projet est consultable en ligne à l’adresse suivante : http://www.hmc.gov.uk/icacds/fr/normesISAAR2.htm

Tous les membres de catégorie “ A ” et “ B ”du Conseil international des archives (directions nationales ou organismes assimilés et associations professionnelles) sont donc invités à adresser leurs observations sur ce projet à l’adresse mentionnée à la fin du présent communiqué. En outre, toute autre association professionnelle, organisation, ou personne physique, issu de la communauté archivistique ou d’une autre communauté professionnelle, et qui s’intéresse à la norme ISAAR (CPF), est invité à faire parvenir ses observations.

Les commentaires doivent être adressés en Français ou en Anglais. Cette dernière langue étant la langue de travail du Comité, les correspondants sont invités à la choisir de préférence.

Les commentaires doivent être adressés au Secrétariat du Comité à l’adresse suivante pour le 15 juillet 2003, délai de rigueur. Ils seront pris en considération lors de la session plénière du Comité à Canberra (Australie) en octobre 2003, session au cours de laquelle le texte définitif sera établi afin de pouvoir être publié pour le Congrès international des Archives de Vienne en 2004.
