Okay, here's part 2:

Trying to hang in there until Monday. Obviously, I won't know until they get a sample of the fluid, which the Interventional Radiologist will get from the procedure we now have scheduled for Monday afternoon. They are going to give me something for the pain and manually drain the area again, and send it off for cultures. It's not as if I have taken tons of antibiotics in my life, but if you have a compromised immune system, you will take more than the average person. It's a catch 22. If your immune system is not working the way that it should, you need them to prevent infection, and if you take them, you can get this nightmare (no way to win). I had not taken antibiotics for almost a year and a half when this MRSA infection in my chest, hit me in June. The only thing that took away the pain was the Keflex I had left over from an old surgery until the culture came back. I just had a feeling, and sure enough, it was an infection (before they switched me to Doxycycline). If you will recall, the Infectious Disease rep surprised me by not chastising me on taking the Keflex (I was all prepared for a major lecture). She said that in this instance, it bought me time and helped to relieve the pain until they got the culture back, so it was a smart move. Trying not to grab anything right now until we know. It's worse today than it was yesterday, so I am really feeling it's MRSA again (maybe it was not completely eradicated the first time). Dreading this. Taking Manuka Honey, Colloidal Silver, Olive Leaf, Garlic, Oregano Oil, and Goldenseal now to try and buy me some time. Just frustrated and scared (MRSA is nothing to play with).
