Subject: Ravenbeauty Update 7/12/13

God bless you now and always for this incredible outpouring. We were literally stunned., My Oncologist admitted that he was sick to his stomach having to think of what he would have to pass on to me. Nobody expected it to be good news. The new Oncologist was also stunned as well (although she didn't even bother looking at the pictures that my Radiologist sent me home with (scary and negligent). I can't wait until he opens up his practice. I feel so in limbo right now between the two.

The news blindsided us, and I am grateful in so many ways. All I could do is look up at the sky and say "you heard me, you really heard all of our many prayers" because I began to feel as if my case was just too impossible at this point. I should have realized that with God, all things are possible (even long shots like me). John and I are having a bit of a battle right now over the suspicious activity seen in my brain on the scan, but I want to hold onto this moment for a while., I don't want MRI's and contrast right now. You have to be there to understand. I want to hold onto the good. They also showed a tiny, fixed nodule in my upper right lung, which is also new, but not taking up any sugar (I guess that's what he meant when he said that they saw something in my voicebox). I want to enjoy this moment for now.

70% of this cancer is gone! I want to hold onto that right now. A victory I never saw coming. Gleevec is a miracle drug, but like all the rest of the chemo's out there, it cannot cross the blood brain barrier. I don't know what I will do when we check out what is going on in my brain, but for now, it's a good day! I love you! XOXOXO!

Raven, make sure the drug rep is informed of your positive response. I am not sure if the oncologist will notify via medical records. I am so happy for you and agree you should enjoy the moment.
