Subject: Appointment with my Oncologist today,.......

Hey Gang,

Today was rather surprising. John went with me because we really thought I would be doing battle with the stand I am taking on Chemotherapy, but what happened was completely unexpected (and it was a very good appointment as we had a thorough discussion with no rushing or anything). Before I could even get a word out about not doing Chemotherapy, he said that he looked at the pathology from the latest surgery and discussed the genes I have with others in the field and feels that Chemotherapy would not be that effective in my case. It took a moment for that to sink in because I had prepared myself for battle over it. Apparently the Gleevec is not a match for the test kit thing he told me about (he sent my samples to a lab to have it run against Gleevec, and the Angiosarcoma is not a match). He said I would need a cocktail that would be lethal in my case to battle both IDC and Angiosarcoma and interestingly enough, cited my Mother's case (a good sign that he listens and actually remembered what happened to my mom). My mother died from Chemo induced Leukemia (AML Type M7). He said they discussed the gene issue and actually fear that I could end up with a third cancer after doing the two Chemo's I would need. My genes are too rare and too unpredictable. He said that he discussed my particular case with quite a few colleagues and they agree that it won't be a good situation. Of course this creeped us out a little because it also means that they are not expecting me to make it period, however it was the sign I have been praying for on this subject. I have prayed for clarity on this so many times lately. Today I got my answer. It's not meant to be and that's what I needed to know.

My immune system has already been severely compromised by the treatment I had done in 2001. I realize now that live or die, I am doing the right thing. I had a feeling that I was no matter what the outcome. I read him the list of things I am taking and he had a thumbs up for all of it (he still wants me to not take the DCA I bought). That is still sitting in my refrigerator unopened. I told him that I would be starting PawPaw this week and he said that this has helped men with Prostate cancer and that he is well aware of it. He did not know much more about it but I told him about how it is also being aimed at blood vessel fed tumors like Angiosarcoma. He said that anything that could buy me some time and not make me ill is worth it at this point.

The biggest shocker for me is that he said that since I am going all-natural, that I should add one thing to my list. He said that I should start taking Cinnamon three times a day! I was stunned! John was stunned! Usually they poo poo natural remedies, but he was making a point of me adding Cinnamon, and the ironic thing is that I am already drinking a strong tea 4 times a week or so made of fresh sliced Ginger root with two Cinnamon sticks each time (I put it in a pot and let it boil for ten minutes and add a little raw organic honey). It's delicious and invigorating. The only reason I added Cinnamon is because it has kept my blood sugar down and gotten me away from being borderline with Diabetes (Diabetes runs in our family). Cinnamon has really kept that in check beautifully, but I had no idea about any cancer related benefits from it! If anyone out here told me about it, please forgive me because I honestly don't remember anything about Cinnamon and cancer, but to have an Oncologist recommend an herb period! Wow! It restored my faith a bit. He said that he didn't know what I would find online, but that they are doing some trials now on a compound from Cinnamon and that it is very effective against tumors! I've spent hours and hours to days and days on end searching and I just don't remember anything on Cinnamon except for it controlling blood sugar, which it has for me. He either wants to me to up the tea to three times a day or take capsules to compensate. For what it's worth, I thought I would pass this on.

He also gave me an ongoing prescription for Phenergan due to the nausea I have been experiencing lately (Zofran does absolutely nothing for me). It was a real meeting of the minds today. We set up a PET scan for mid July. That will give me a little more time to see if what I am doing is having any real effect on the mets I have. He told me to contact them immediately if I begin having unexplained consistent pain anywhere (that would be a very bad sign), but I am going to stay focused on the fight. He did feel the swollen lymph node that I have on my right, but he said that they only take lymph nodes out for detection purposes and considering the fact that I have had 18 removed already under my left arm from my first go round (and they already know the cancer has moved into the nodes on the right as is), he would not want to take out nodes on the right too (especially if we are not doing Chemo). I was concerned about this as well, so I got the confirmation I needed on that score too. I think that would have seriously complicated things with Lymphadema and having an arm left that they can use for blood work and blood pressure. I am not a typical case here at all, and he realizes this. I'm either going to make it or I'm not, but I am doing it with healthy alternatives that could hopefully buy me some time without poisoning me to death in the process. Just keeping you guys in the loop as promised. I love you! ♥♥♥

Hi Raven
Eat as much as your body craves. My mom is in remission from stage 3 colon cancer. 8 years ago my mom had a cancerous polyp removed from her colon and 4 years ago a tumor the size of a softball was discovered wrapped around the femoral artery of her leg. For months prior to the discovery she would eat cinnamon and sugar by handfull. 3 huge handfuls every hour. Being worried about sugar she started mixing it with stevia. We all thought she was crazy and reported this to her physician. My mom's physicican knew her cancer history and immediately ordered a PET scan when he heard of the craving. Having had a cancer diagnosis prior he was concerned about a reoccurance. What they discovered was shocking! A softball size tumor.

My mom would go through the big costco size cinnamon in 2 weeks. When the surgeon opened her up they were shocked to see how the tumor was controlled in one area and how it did not invade her blood stream. Once the tumor was removed the cinnamon cravings stopped. She has added it to her daily routine to keep any new tumors from forming. 1 year later she is still in remission and doing well. Oncologist believes the cinnamon controlled the growth and saved her from a stage 4 diagnosis

Hey Nancee. When I Read Raven's Post, I was Very Happy for her that she could Take her Cinammon and I was Glad that Raven will not have Any More Chemotherapy. However, that was All I did. However Nancee when you said I'm glad that the Doctor's Visit gave you Peace, I Teared Up and was about to Cry. It is SOOO Important for People to have Peace about whatever is going on even when They are not even Sick. They could not be Getting Along with Somebody or have Financial Problems or Anything. However, Raven had A Good Doctor's Visit and She was Worried about how the Visit was going to go. Raven found out that she doesn't have to have Any More Chemotherapy and Raven found out that Something she was doing for One Health Problem can Help her with her Cancer AND The Doctor thought it was A Good Idea for her to have the Cinnamon. Maybe the Cinnamon will Help make the Cancer Shrink or Maybe Go Away or at least Slow Down the Spreading of the Cancer and RavenBeauty will get A Couple of More Years To Live. Jody

[> Re: Appointment with my Oncologist today,....... -- P.L., 12:17:55 05/16/12 Wed [1]

Received this in e-mail today. Thought to pass along. God bless.

HONEY AND CINNAMON

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing" When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.
Cinnamon and Honey
Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada , in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:
HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack.. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.
BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder..
CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.
COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.
UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.
GAS:
According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.
INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.
INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ' Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.
LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increase and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old..
PIMPLES:
Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root. SKIN INFECTIONS:
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.
WEIGHT LOSS:
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
CANCER:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.
FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.
BAD BREATH:
People of South America, first thing in the morning, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.
HEARING LOSS:
Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!
You might want to share this information with a friend, kinfolks and loved ones. Everyone needs healthy help information ~ what they do with it is up to them ~ share with your email buddies!!!!!

I did not see Hay Fever or Allergy on your list, but honey can help that too IF you are eating LOCAL honey. You need honey that is produced by bees who live in the same area that has the pollens that you are allergic to.

I have seen some phenomenal results from "going natural." My sister was able completely go off her meds for lupus. I think that someday in the future, the medical community will look at chemo the way they look at bloodletting and leaches today. Raven, you are helping many people by educating them and encouraging us not not to accept a doctor's word on blind faith.

I asked my OB a question once and her answer was, "Oh, I will take care of that." (Meaning that she would decide it for me.) I got a new doctor the next day. One of the best decisions I have ever made.

Raven, I'm so happy that you've found a doctor who seems to be on the same page as you. You are doing all of the right things and keeping your body clean...I believe that when you go for the PET scan in July the doctors won't be able to believe the difference you've made healing yourself naturally. I'm a big believer of going the natural route whenever possible.... - if we can soothe tooth aches with ginger and cure a skin infection with a bread & milk poultice....then you can fight off this horrid disease with all of the methods you are using. I'm so happy to hear you upbeat! You have empowered yourself and YOU are fighting this on your own terms! You are a force to be reckoned with and an inspiration to us all. Keep it up! We all love you!

Raven,

What about Chinese Medicine. I heard good things about Chinese medicine when Western Medicine have given up home. And acupuncture for pain. Don't forget vitamin d and Calicum. You have to take at least 4,000 iu of vitamin d3 dAily. Vitamin d can stop the growth of tumors espeically In breast cancer

Have you tried cupping and or accupuncture? Not sure if either of these would help you. But cupping is supposed to help remove toxins from the body, and accupuncture should help with pain among other things. I don't know if these are even an option for you. But thought I'd put it out there.

Much love and prayers always-

I watch Dr.Oz alot & on one of his shows they were talking about cancer and some of the things to help ward off different kinds. The one thing that stuck in my mind was that eating 1 mushroom a day (if you like them) constricts the blood vessels that supply the tumor with what it needs to grow, also onions have the same properties. Praying for you!!

Hello Raven,

I read about your illness and I am sorry to hear of the pain that you are going through. I will keep you in my prayers. I admire your strength to fight and keep this fight very public. You have such a beautiful soul and I wish you all the best. I haven't been able to monitor your full fight and I don't know if you have mentioned this or if you have tried this. But I am hearing miraculous cancer stories regarding this solution, it is a homemade aloe vera treatment (aloe vera, REALLY RAW HONEY and whiskey-see link below). Please see this website, it has a lot of information regarding this treatment. If you decide to do this, you will have to take the syrup for a 10 day increment, stop for 10 days, then start it again to fight the cancer. I am not a doctor, just an advocate of holistic medicine, but I believe if you continue to research this treatment you will find a lot of information. I know that at times like these, placing pure and natural remedies into your body helps a million. Filtered water, organic foods, herbs, etc. Again, if you are aware and have tried it, I hope it helps.

If not, here goes:

You are in my prayers with Love

Hi Raven, for journal information on a biologically related subject, you can go to:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed
Type in a search, for example "cinnamon and cancer" and it will return relevant articles/reports, just like Google. Depending on the journal and/or the recentness of the article you will see the abstract or be able to read the whole article.
Bless you!
