Hey Guys,
It's that time again, so pull up a chair and get ready for a few suds as we sail into our Wednesday on a bar of soap.
On a personal note, this will be my last column before I head into surgery (I will be undergoing surgery on Monday, October 17, 2011). This past month has been incredibly surreal for me. Learning that Epitheloid Angiosarcoma has a 15% survival rate nearly took me out. I really needed time to process all of this. Your many messages and emails have been a lighthouse for me over the past few weeks. I will never forget this. The outpouring here and at Facebook has brought me to tears on more than one occasion.
No matter how this turns out, I wanted you to know that you have brought me so much joy and love over the years. The negativity could never even begin to outweigh the joy that I have had in writing this column. I was so concerned about sharing all of this with you, but then I realized that I was amongst friends (not just fans and readers of my column). Thank you for all your incredible love and support. I have read each and every note, message, and link you have sent my way. I am going to fight this with everything I have. I'm not giving up, but I wanted you to know that if it overtakes me and I can't fight my through it this time, you have really added to my life in so many ways. I love you for that (I always will).
Many of you have asked me for the time of my surgery so that you could do a bit of a mass prayer session for me, and that has to be one of the most beautiful things anyone has ever wanted to do for me in my life. To say that I am touched and humbled by this would be a gross understatement. The surgery is for Monday October 17, 2011. If you are on the west coast, the time of surgery is 9.30AM. If you are on the East Coast, the time of surgery is 12.30PM. I could use all the prayers I can get right now so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you guys. I really and truly mean that.
I wanted to take a moment before we head into the scoops and spoils to tell you how honored I was to find that some of you began a fund in my honor through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. I was deeply touched. The best Birthday present a girl could hope for. Every dollar you donate goes directly to research through the foundation and may help save a life one day. Gossip Column Disclaimer That Will Appear In Each Column!
This disclaimer will appear each week. Please keep in mind that these are rumors, and any gossip or rumors found within, are completely unsubstantiated. I know this goes without saying for most of you, but there are many new readers out there as well. So far, my sources have been pretty darn good over the years, and I am truly grateful. It would be pointless to have a gossip column without gossip, so you will find both fact and unsubstantiated rumors within these walls. Also, please note that actors are contractually bound by gag orders. They are not allowed to reveal whether they are leaving or not, until the network gives them the green light to do so. Insisting that actors speak to rumors that involve their relationship with their respective shows, places them in a very awkward position. Please keep all of this in mind as you read my column (which will come out every other week). In addition, I can be wrong, and freely admit this. When my sources give me what they have, it's what they are hearing backstage at that moment in time. They are the first to admit that stories can be scrapped or rewritten, with casting decisions changing frequently. I respect their limitations, and so should you. Most of what I hear are very early rumblings, but I will keep nothing from you either way.
Ravenbeauty's OLTL Dish
Prospect Park has been showing ABC whose boss in a rather large way over the past month or two. Not only have the endings been rewritten, but some of the larger stories have been altered completely. They are still trying to lure that golden boy back into the fold. My sources have made it clear that the fight is far from over. Timelines are going to be very shaky with all of this going on, however we still have a major announcement coming that will leave OLTL fans cheering in the stands (sit tight).
Somebody incredibly special is returning to OLTL. I wish I could elaborate, but I am unable to do so right now. It will all make sense once the announcement is made (and it will be made). The deal is done. I'm incredibly excited about this one! I know that many will share in that feeling once it's been made public. Love love love love this (female)!
Speaking of returns, Prospect Park has been reviewing some of the older stories, and with that comes the return of characters that we thought we would never see again. This could really shake things up in a rather large way. Since some of our favorites are not going to make the transition, Prospect Park wants to bring back some of the older favorites in return. Some of the things I was told yesterday had me smiling like I haven't smiled in years. Stay tuned......they are on their way back.
I have to say that watching Tina and Cord again was pure magic. I rarely share my personal opinions on the show, however here's some Ravenbeauty trivia for the day (I was drawn into OLTL because of Cord & Tina.....my favorite couple of all time). These past two weeks have been nothing short of magical. After all these years, John and Andrea could have stepped out of a time capsule for all we know. The magic is still very much alive. If you want to see more of John Loprieno and Andrea Evans, let your voices be heard!

In that vein, if you are not happy with the idea of a Llanview without Nora, Bo, and Matthew, you have the addresses above. Ravenbeauty's GH Dish
As most of you know, I was the one who began the now infamous "Two male players out in September" scoop. Please know that things are rather chaotic behind the scenes at ABC, so none of us are going to be particularly brilliant with dates right now (it's to be expected). They will indeed be announced as out. Timelines are going to be off right now. No way around that. It is coming (you won't be happy). You won't be alone on that either....
More recasts are coming as well. As my Facebook readers know, I warned you that despite denials to the contrary, that Lexi was indeed out as Kristina. Unfortunately, some took a comment I made about watching Kristen Alderson grow up in front of our eyes, as my way of hinting that she would be crossing over to replace Lexi (not true). If they have this planned, it would be a surprise for me as well. Watch closely as now is when you will begin hearing more on those crossovers (most will be announced by the end of the year, which is fast approaching).
I stand by what I told fans in April, General Hospital is indeed being canceled. ABC still plans to go full steam ahead with their ridiculous plan. Perhaps NewsCorp would be interested in buying the network once it tanks completely (perhaps they can make some wonderful changes as they did with MySpace). The Chew has crashed and burned just as we knew it would. The Revolution will follow suit. They sure have a lot riding on Katie (no pressure Katie...none my dear)...
I told you that Laura was on her way back, and as you can see, they are setting things up as we speak (expect more denials). Luke and Laura will be reunited, and Tracy and Anthony will be the new zany offering on canvas. Lisa isn't done meddling in Patrick and Robin's life courtesy of Anthony Zacharra. Look for Anthony to step things up in his pursuit of Sonny's demise. His plan backfires badly with Johnny paying the price.
Look for a male villain to rear his infamous head once again. He's coming, and with him a major secret that will rock all of Port Charles! As I hinted at several columns back, a huge female favorite is about to break many a heart out there as she waves goodbye to Port Charles. This one is going to hurt.......

Raven,I don't know how to express my feelings right now(a rare thing for me lol). I've been reading your column for quite a few years.You've brought such joy to my life. Over the last several years I've experienced more than my share of personal losses,some that I thought I'd never recover from emotionally. I've recently found myself navagating through life all on my own&it's been a scary ride to say the least. Despite it all though Raven one thing that's always remained constant has been Ravenbeauty&her soap columns.As odd as it may seem you've been more than a soap reporter to me.I've come to view you as a loving faithful welcomed dear friend. Father, as I face this operation, I come to You with my fears and misgivings and ask You to put into my heart the needed courage to face the day with unwavering confidence in Your goodness and protection. You know why it says 15%? Because there ARE people that fall under that category. My gut tells me that you may very well be one of those 15%; why the heck not?
