Subject: Microchip query
In reply to: Andrea 's message, "chips" on 12:00:26 11/09/07 Fri

I bought him privately, the couple had him from a yearling, he is now 3.5 years old approx. The couple bought him from a dealer in the UK who said his papers had been 'lost' in transit and was most unhlepful.

He is chipped and his number is on his passport (previous owners registered him to wetherbies) I emailed the FPS with the chip and they have said there is no record of the chip. The UK database has no record of the chip, although they did confirm that the number of the chip indicates it originates from Freisland.

Can I have his DNA tested without knowing who his parents are?
Can I trace the vet who implanted the chip? and therefore trace the breeder?

I'd really like to know his original name, he is gorgeous, full of character, bold and loving and has 9.5 inches of bone so hopefully will be a big boy! I would love to know more about him.

Zoe x
