Yes, I believe too that it is commonly used, and also here in England by unscrupulous dealers.
Best thing probally to do is get bloods taken and stored when the vetting is done. If a problem arises in the first week or two after having the horse, the blood can be taken, and then, I suppose you enter into a legal battle, about the horse being sedated prior to purchase, and not being sold as advertised!!??
