Subject: Friesian Buying- Support North American Breeders

It amazes me how fast Friesian importers can sell their horses!!! It drives me crazy! Do people actually think that because their horse is coming from the Netherlands that it is a better Friesian? Come on people! There are just as good as Friesians being bred in North America as there are in the Netherlands. That’s a fact!! Yet people somehow think they're getting something special buy importing! I find it so funny how people are willing to pay thousands of more dollars for a horse just because they want something that is imported! They think it is so wonderful to buy a 20, 30, 40, 50+ thousand dollar horse sight unseen!!!!!!!! Are people nuts!!! It is not a well known fact but people in Europe DO NOT buy horses over the INTERNET!!! To me it's crazy!!! Just because you see a few cherry picked photos and a few short online videos doesn't mean BUY NOW!! For real people! Wake UP!! Do people think that breeders in the Netherlands are willing to give up their best ster mares!! Or their best producing mares!! How about not!!! It takes years to get a good broodmare band together. I doubt that those fancy dancy breeders are willing to give up their best! I don't think so! I know one thing and one thing only- Importers are hurting the small breeders!! People just need to wake up, and understand that just because a horse was imported. It doesn't make it anymore special than a horse born right here in North America!!!!! So I say buy domestic! And support the breeders right here in North America!!
