That is not true - you CAN read the chipped imported Friesians, BUT you need an international reader. The FHANA lets you borrow theirs, with a $ 25 rental fee and a $ 400 refundable deposit!

I bought one myself and both my imported Friesians' chip was readable as well as my US chipped dog...
