Hi Cathy,
I must braid or his 2 year old companion chews his mane. I was losing masses of it until I did it up into one long braid high up on his crest. It can last 3 or 4 days before it gets too untidy and I re-do it. I've been doing this for 6 months now and it has made a huge difference to the length of his mane. As I'm not making lots of individual braids there is no chance of one section getting pulled out from the roots (I hope anyway.
Intrigued by your 'crooked ear' reference. My boy has ears that are completely different from each other. One is small and fat and the other is long and thin, can't work out how that happened?
