I merely mentioned Buddha because the site we are discussing has chocolate Buddhas. :) You are entitled to your opinions sweetsong - no-one is saying that you aren't. This is a forum for everyone to write / discuss / read with an open mind. For me, eating a deity would not be destroying the image - rather a taking in of part of that deity. Date Posted: 14/12/06 16:30 In Christianity we symbolicly partake of our deity often as is commanded by the scripture. Some even believe that the bread and wine actually become the flesh and blood of Christ after it is eaten. (The thought of which totally grosses me out. Eww!) So I guess the culture your in would have a great deal with weather or not a chocolate deity offends you. Interesting stuff to think about. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
