(firstly i hope i spellt that right lol)

ok, oil seed rape ... my house and my complete journey to work are surrounded in it!! and although it smells (imo) lovely and the beautiful almost luminous yellow almost bounces in to the horizon and fills me with a real sence of wellbeing (yay summer is almost here kind of thing) .... i am afraid i react very badly to it, if i waft past a field i sneeze continuously for the rest of the day... and on warmer breezy days when the pollen blows from it i come out on my arms and hands in a most awful blotchy painfully itchy rash!!!

Does anyone know of a natural anti hystamine i could try instead of taking these 1 a day things the doc prescribed -which i don't actually think work any way!!-

i would be most grateful for any suggestions, and while i am here , also any suggestions for a facial treatment to moisten my face (obviously doh!) as i get all dry and itchy from time to time !!( and i have kind of hyper sensative skin to and makeup or cosmeticy type stuff!!)

i hope you are all well and blessed with good health, love and some of this wonderful sunshine which i am experiencing today (albeit indoors at work :O( )

love and lambs xx

Ah Sam!!!!!

A fellow summertime nose-running specialist.

Someone told me once to use localy made Honey, Don't ask me how it works but it does, I think its something to do with the local strains of pollen.

I to suffer from occasional dry skin during the summer, especially round my eyes on the ridge of my nose. I just use a no-perfumed non anything moisturiser, i.e. simple

Blessings and Light

Hello lovely Sam - ah... the yellow fields!! lol - how well I remember them! One of the best anti-histamines : stinging nettles! and nettle and lemon balm tea is delicous (although just nettles is good too). An infusion of nettles will sort out skin rashes too - use it as a skin rinse or add a strong infusion to bath water.
Local honey is good for hayfever - it's a bit like having an innoculation... the theory being you're getting small amounts of the local pollen which would otherwise be annoying you.

As for facial treatments... I reckon you'd do well with an infusion of nettles to soothe the itching (calendula also good for this), lemon juice is fantastic for treating dry skin, and I know just the oil which I think would be good for you... (Skyclad - great for senstive skin - it's got hemp seed oil in it, which may also help with the hayfever a little) I'll send you over a bottle! (if you like) :)
Hugs and Blessings x

Thanks for your interest - 'Skyclad' is one of the Gaia's Garden oil blends Paganwolf, (great for sensitive skin & chapped or dry skin...it's like liquid velvet and skin drinks it up!) 'Skyclad' oil blend can be used on it's own or as a base for diluting essential oils... it's one of my favourites! :)

Hemp seed oil is one of the ingredients of 'Skyclad' and adds a lovley nutty taste/smell mmmmmmmmmmm.
Hemp seed oil is also great for including in your diet (unheated) or using for skin care / hair care. A remarkable oil considered to many to have the "highest and most complete profile of essential fatty acids" (the good fats) : omega 3 and omega 6 (and omega 9).

"Hemp Seed Oil is a highly nutritious food, and contains anti-oxidants, protein, carotene, phytosterols, phospholipids, as well as a number of minerals including calcium, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, iron, zinc, and phosphorus. It is a source of complete protein and contains all twenty know amino acids, including the nine essential amino acids. It also contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D, and E....."

As a skin care oil Hemp Seed oil will still offer you plenty of benefits as the vitamins and minerals present are easily absorbed through the skin. It has so many wonderful properties (I've only just skimmed the surface here!) I highly recommend the stuff!!
