Dagny (of Norse origins - 'new day')
Bj�rg (of Norse origins - 'protection')
Brina (Slovene name - 'protector')
Sasha ('protector of mankind')
Babesne (possibly Basque - 'protector')
Myfanwy (Welsh - 'my woman' - although your dog may not approve lol)
Lexa / Lex / Lexi etc... forms of Alexandra and Alexus - 'defender'

hmmm...Sirius - love the name (although personally I tend to see this as a more masculine canine name) a strong powerful name :)
