I originally became veggie as I was against the inhumane meat industry / factory / intensive farming (organic and free-range meat wasn't much of an option back then) and I couldn't face the idea of eating dead animals.

I personally can not justify killing an animal for my pleasure - I do not need meat to survive, therefore I can do without it. If I was in a survival position, perhaps I would end up killing something to survive, can't say I'd enjoy the experience... but in the here and now I do not need to... so I don't :)

I'm ovo-veggie at the moment because dairy products don't agree with me anymore. (I guess I asked for though - I kept wanting to go vegan but loved cheese too much lol!) I do eat eggs now and then, but I only eat free range eggs (we had a school trip to a battery farm when I was really quite young, it was hideous and put me off battery eggs for life.)

Doesn't mean I think 'it's wrong to eat meat' - nor do I take to telling others what I think they should eat... although I do believe that free range / organic (or preferable living completely free) is more respectful and healthier than intensive / factory... for the animals AND you!
